The Shipman Wedding

It’s always a humbling, invigorating, joyful experience to be selected as someone’s wedding photographer. All the precious moments of the big day all the nerves the excitement all culminated into two I-dos and one kiss.

Their delightful spring wedding was hosted at the stunning Blackstone Country Club where every detail suitably expressed Lish and Skip as a couple. The candy bar, the gorgeous wooden tables the romantic lighting.  Everything was so beautiful.

Hands down my favorite part of the day was the first look. Lish looked stunning.

STUN-NING people. two syllables. They were both getting ready for the first look. I turned to Her- and asked if she was ready to “see your soon to be husband?” She lit up. But kept commenting on how nervous she was. As she approached her swayingly nervous fiancé their first moments together were holy. There is no other word for it. It’s not often that I cry ( ok yes it is I cry all the time) but it’s not often that I cry during a first look… But when Skip took his soon to be wife’s hands and their bowed their heads and prayed together-the entire back of my camera was soaked. Sorry about it.

I hope that you enjoy these beautiful images and that you are momentarily taken back to their fabulous wedding!

Congratulations to the Shipmans!

He doesn’t look that nervous does he?

these girls made the day so much fun !

Rachel & Richard, engaged.

There are this special moments in life where you feel like everything is in it’s place and everything clicks. Rare as it may be to experience that in this hustle bustle- get it done now world, I feel like Rachel and Richard they get it. They click.

Clicking my camera during their engagement shoot was so simple. The way they interacted with each other was so seamless and loving.

I would just melt at the way that Richard would kiss her forehead or touch her arm, totally unprompted. The way these two love each other was so easy to capture through my lens because it was so genuine and true.

Rachel and Richard, I am so excited to photograph your wedding in October!

Let me also say that I adore Rachel’s spirit.

This girl has got drive and spunk. She sets her mind to something and does it! Our mission during this shoot- Operation FIELD. Rachel is such a trooper. She trekked through it all wearing SANDALS, and a big grin on her face.

Richard- girls like Rachel are one in a million, you are one lucky dude!

This next set was totally unprompted, I turned around because I heard Rachel giggling…. Yep. I kinda love them.

Prayer

I am blessed by these people.

These are the Leaders of Campo Verde high school Young Life. Though them I have learned so much.

Casey has taught me to always be prepared, God has big things planned.

Gavin has taught me that God has a sense of humor.

Jerry has taught me strength is mostly heart.

Dylan has taught me that being a leader means following Christ.

Josh has taught me patience, kindness, and assurance.

These are truly men of God.

Liz has taught me how to laugh, hard.

Sabrina has taught me that prayer should be my posture.

Alex has taught me not to sweat the small stuff.

These are some awesome women of the Lord.

Our group of campaigners kids meets every Sunday night, and a week ago we all met at our new house. Or should I say the construction zone that is our new house. Josh and I were brave enough to do a total remodel. What were we thinking?

All the flooring came up and every wall was painted ( or is in the process of being painted… just saying if you want to come help..)

We enjoyed hot dogs and s’mores over the fire pit and talked about God, and what he was doing in our lives. Highs. Lows. This is the best part about a community.

The cool part of this little shindig is that we were able to invite kids in to our home to pray over and technically “under” our floors.

Each kid, armed with a black marker went into our house and we prayed over each room. Individually we wrote verses and praises all over the floor, the walls, the steps.

I feel so confidently that the Lord has anointed this house for us. Even more now, I feel so covered and protected living there.

Thank you to everyone who came and made this night so special.

Paul said,” We have not ceased to pray for you.”

James said, “Pray for one another.”

Samuel said “As for me, far it be from me that I should sin against the Lord by failing to pray for you,”

I believe that true prayer comes from the heart of God. I believe that God gives us a heart to pray for others. I believe that God puts his own heart on our heart so that we sense the needs and desires of individuals. Its honestly a joy to join them in their battle through prayer.

so thank you guys. Love you.

Pup Pup Puppies!

Seriously whats cuter than puppies? You’re right. nothing.

Meet Penny and Linus.

Well I take that back, there actually might be one thing that is more adorable and precious then these two puppies in a bin. ( a puppy-bin if you will…)

The one thing cuter is>>> Ben and Jenny in love.

These two! seriously. I loved getting the opportunity to shoot them in their home. Or should I say in their “Pintrest kingdom,” this place is a dream. Also a treat, I was able to photograph this wonderful trio of sisters, who were in town visiting Jenny.

So fun to step back and watch them interact with each other. Makes me wish that I had sisters!

You can tell you had a good time when you experience the puppy pass out…

For I know the plans I have for you…

Jeremiah 29:11 says

”For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”

For some, this is a clichéd verse. It’s like that song on the radio that you know every word to and generally like- but is overplayed so you switch the station.

But this verse was renewed for me during my shoot with this senior Abby.

As she heads off to Concordia in the Fall, she is confident in the Lord.  Abby- I love your spirit! So easy to capture and so fun to be around. This day was such a blast.

Thanks for such a fun time !

Love special details, like when grandmas sew buttons on dresses…

Love this girls spunk.
